Tried to activate US-4447 today but no joy. 10w FT8, I called CQ for about 30 minutes, nothing. I was hearing stations and receiving signals but couldn't get anyone to answer. We were down in a valley so that didn't help. I'll try again tomorrow. #hamradio #pota #parksontheair @parksontheairinc

Honestly, if you're not interested in radio, then no worries. It's probably not for everyone. But choosing ignorance isn't a good philosophy on how to live your life.

I don't mean to be unkind. As far as trolling comments go, this one is pretty tame to some I've seen in the past. But this is a great example of someone who chooses to be ignorant over knowledgeable

If you don't understand, ask questions. I'm here to help. If you want to troll, you really should upgrade your game.

Bottom Line: RADIO is off-grid and doesn't require ANY infrastructure to work. Satellite radio, PoC radio, cell phones, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, In-Reach, etc ,...... These are ALL radios of some sort - but they require an infrastructure to talk to one another. Take away the towers and satellites and what do you have? A brick, not much else.

Ham Radio, GMRS, CB radio, etc - all work point-to-point - no network needed. And THAT is why radio is the only true OFF GRID communication device
