Today we look at the South Texas Hamfest for 2015 in Aransas Pass, Texas. This Hamfest fell on October 31st this year for Halloween, so we had some colorful characters at the show.
The rain storms this week were so heavy on Thursday and Friday that it degraded the attendance at this year’s show. This was disappointing, but at the same time, there were still several people in attendance, so the show was still good. This was my first time to attend this show, and I look forward to going back next year.
On Friday night we stopped into a place called The Railroad Seafood Station, which is a microbrew pub and restaurant. They had some good beers on draft and good seafood also, which is what we were looking for. If you are in this area, I would recommend stopping here.
Hi Jason, I like your video coverage of ham radio events.. You might like to see a video shot at one of our major events in the UK, there is no commentary but you get a feel of what is going on:

We might be the other side of the Atlantic, but hams is hams..

Jason, I enjoyed your video of the South Texas Hamfest in Aransas Pass last Oct 31, 2015. I was there with the Salvation Army Communication unit out of Dallas. The weather was terrible that weekend with many tornadoes and much flooding in my home area of Austin.
I was really impressed at the organization of the South Texas Hamfest.
Thank you for your videos and perhaps next spring you will participate in the Williamson County Amateur Radio Club’s hamfest.
